The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Grand Rapids seeking Electrical Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves electrical issues in production machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Implements and maintains programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for automated processes.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate new electrical systems into existing manufacturing lines.
  • Develops and updates electrical schematics, diagrams, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensures all electrical installations and modifications adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Selects and specifies electrical hardware, sensors, and actuators for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, motor controls, and power distribution.
  • Experience with CAD software for electrical schematics and panel layouts (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET)
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
  • Experience with vision systems for quality control or guidance
