The OpportunityWe collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Wayland region seeking Design Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.
Key Responsibilities- Designs and develops new products or modifies existing ones to meet customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
- Creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for manufacturing, assembly, and quality control.
- Conducts design reviews and collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain.
- Performs engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs and predict performance.
- Troubleshoots design-related production issues and implements corrective actions to improve manufacturability and product quality.
- Selects and specifies appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes for product realization.
- Develops and maintains product documentation, including specifications, bills of materials, and test procedures.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product designs and engineering processes.
Recommended Qualifications- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Bonus Qualifications- Experience with a specific CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) beyond general proficiency.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated ability to create and interpret GD&T.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
