This mid-level role is well suited for engineers who enjoy hands-on technical design while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The position offers exposure to the full product lifecycle-from concept and design through testing and manufacturing-working on dependable, high-performance electrical systems used in commercial and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform product-level electrical design for power distribution and protection systems, including component selection and system integration
  • Contribute to thermal analysis, mechanical packaging considerations, and interconnection design
  • Apply engineering principles related to analog and digital circuits, magnetics, and thermal behavior
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications
  • Design power and control circuitry for switchboards and associated electrical equipment
  • Support integration of externally sourced components into larger electrical assemblies
  • Assist in the development of test procedures, technical reports, and manufacturing documentation
  • Provide engineering support for both new designs and existing product platforms
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems during lab testing or production activities
  • Participate in compliance and certification efforts aligned with UL, CSA, and IEC safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design, development, or a closely related engineering role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)
  • Experience designing or supporting switchboards (UL 891 or similar standards)
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes (ECNs), BOM management, and documentation control systems
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or comparable electrical design tools; exposure to ERP systems is a plus
  • Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers)
  • Understanding of three-phase power systems and industrial electrical applications
  • Knowledge of UL, CSA, and IEC requirements, including EMC and electrical safety standards
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills
  • Proven troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving ability
  • Exposure to environmental, reliability, or safety considerations in commercial or industrial products

Work Environment & Professional Growth

  • Hybrid and remote-flexible work structure
  • Opportunity to work on complex, real-world power system applications
  • Collaborative, engineering-driven culture with involvement across the full product lifecycle
  • Strong potential for long-term growth within a technically focused organization
