Design Real Machines. Bring Products to Market. Lead from the Front. Our partner is a
global leader in innovative machinery solutions supporting material handling, printing, mail, and packaging automation. With decades of industry leadership, the company is known for delivering complex, high-performance equipment that customers rely on every day.
We are seeking a
Senior Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of
true machine design-not process engineering, drafting-only work, or incremental updates. This role is about
designing, sizing, validating, and commercializing real machinery that is actively being brought to market.
Several products showcased at a major industry trade show are now moving from concept to execution. This role will play a key part in finishing designs, validating performance, and preparing systems for production and release.
The RoleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll serve as a
technical leader responsible for designing automated machinery from concept through production. You'll size gears and motors, work closely with assembly through DFM, and partner cross-functionally to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and market-ready.
This is a
hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys owning complex mechanical systems and guiding them all the way to the floor.
Key Responsibilities - Lead mechanical design of automated machinery and equipment
- Size motors, gears, and mechanical components for performance and durability
- Collaborate closely with assembly and manufacturing through DFM and build support
- Own CAD design and documentation using Creo and Windchill
- Finalize designs for new products transitioning from concept to commercialization
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design improvements
- Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across projects
- Maintain accurate BOMs and configuration control within ERP/PLM systems
What We're Looking For - 5-10+ years of experience in machine design (industrial or automation equipment)
- Background designing machinery such as conveyors, feeders, packaging, or material handling systems
- Strong proficiency with Creo, Windchill, and 3D mechanical design
- Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing and assembly
- Comfortable owning designs end-to-end-not just pieces
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
Nice to Have - Printing or packaging industry experience
- Hands-on exposure to CNC, 3D printing, laser, or waterjet technologies
- Experience developing SOPs and design standards
Why This Role - Work on real machines, not paper projects
- High visibility and influence on products going to market
- Opportunity to lead design decisions and mentor others
- Join a stable, respected organization with long-term growth
- Build your career at the intersection of engineering rigor and real-world impact
