About the roleWe are looking for a motivated, recently graduated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a summer internship. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense programs in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
Strong performers will be considered for a full-time offer at the conclusion of the summer. The internship and full-time position will be located in Long Island, New York.
What you'll doDuring the summer internship, your primary focus will be:
- Compiling and organizing vendor packages in support of Department of Defense contracts, including gathering technical documentation and certifications
- Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure package completeness and accuracy
As you transition to the full-time role, responsibilities will expand to include:
- Supporting production processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Developing and maintaining process documentation and work instructions
What we're looking for- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software
- Familiarity with machining processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Nice to have- Exposure to a manufacturing or machining environment
- Knowledge of government or defense contracting standards
Work schedule- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
