Job Title: Senior Fire Protection & Life Safety Systems Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Life Safety Systems (LSS) Engineer to lead the design and implementation of asset protection and fire mitigation solutions for advanced industrial facilities. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing code-compliant designs for complex systems, including fire sprinklers, gaseous agents, fire detection, and toxic gas monitoring. You will serve as the Engineer of Record for diverse projects, utilizing 3D BIM environments to coordinate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can navigate complex local codes and industry standards to deliver high-integrity, constructible designs for state-of-the-art facilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Technical Design & Engineering: Lead the design of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm networks, smoke/leak detection (VESDA), and intrusion detection systems using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Code Compliance & Advocacy: Interface directly with client counterparts and local code officials to ensure all designs meet IFC, IBC, and NFPA standards (specifically NFPA 72, 101, and 400).
• Advanced Mitigation: Develop solutions for toxic gas detection, smoke modeling, and explosion prevention within hazardous material (HPM) environments.
• Project Ownership: Provide technical guidance to design teams while taking ownership of construction deliverables, including hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, network diagrams, and detailed specifications.
• BIM Coordination: Collaborate within a 3D BIM environment to ensure fire and life safety systems are fully integrated with electrical, mechanical, and architectural disciplines.
• Planning & Mentorship: Estimate and schedule mid-to-large-scale projects, managing resources and mentoring junior engineering staff to ensure technical excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Fire Protection, or related field) with the ability to attain PE licensure.
• Experience: * Minimum of 4 years of professional design experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proven experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale industrial projects.
• Technical Mastery:
• Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA codes (70, 72, 101, 400) and International Building/Fire Codes.
• Hands-on design experience with Fire Alarm systems, VESDA, and Leak Detection hardware.
• Attributes: Strong analytical skills and the ability to represent the firm in front of regulatory agencies and high-level client stakeholders.

Preferred Credentials
• Active Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Design experience within Semiconductor, Data Center, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
• Experience in Design Management and resource oversight.
