What You'll Do

As a Product Design Engineer II, you will complete design tasks that meet requirements for manufacturability, function, quality, cost, performance, and delivery. You will ensure EWRs or project milestones are executed to achieve design goals within budget and timeline.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining part and assembly models in accordance with the Engineering Standards Manual
  • Documenting, reviewing, and updating CAD model and print documentation to ensure accuracy of all materials - including fasteners, plumbing, wiring, purchase parts, manufactured parts, and assemblies - as part of First Article Inspection (FIT team)
  • Conducting basic calculations (stress, tolerance stack-ups, power, etc.) to accompany documentation with assigned design work
  • Reviewing assemblies and ensuring BOM accuracy
  • Modeling routing (electrical and hydraulic), fasteners, and specification callouts for print details
  • Creating First Article Inspection documentation, conducting FIT meetings, and facilitating task completion for First Article work
  • Providing guidance and serving as backup to FIT team members on the floor for products designed
  • Organizing, arranging, and creating models to closely align with manufacturing flow and configurations
  • Identifying and creating subtasks for Product Design Engineers I and reviewing completed work
  • Conducting part FEA and failure analysis under the supervision of Product Design Engineer III and/or the Product Design Manager
  • Participating in product design meetings including stand-ups, design reviews, project hand-offs, and manufacturing hand-offs
  • Contributing to product specification documentation
  • Coordinating updates and changes to customer assets such as owners, technical, or parts manuals

  • High degree of technical and industry product knowledge
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Strong SolidWorks modeling skills

Required Education & Experience:
  • Engineering or related science degree and/or minimum 5 years of design engineering or equipment-based project management experience

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a related science
  • 5+ years of design engineering or project management experience

Physical Requirements

This is a primarily office-based role with regular time in the production environment. Team members must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, walk, and alternate positions throughout the day
  • Reach, push, pull, and stay in position as needed
  • Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a professional office setting with an individual workspace. Team members are frequently present in the production work area and may occasionally travel to customer sites.

Travel

Up to 10% travel between Puck locations or customer sites may be required.
