Job Description:An Instrumentation/Fire Alarm Engineer position responsible for designing and implementing control systems, fire alarm systems, and life safety solutions for industrial and commercial facilities, working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Responsibilities: - Generate complete I&C/LSS design packages including P&IDs, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams
- Review vendor submittal packages against requirements and specifications
- Provide on-site assistance during startup and system implementation
- Coordinate work activities with staff members and discipline leads
- Develop control system designs and process optimizations
- Support field activities and interact with construction personnel
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Skills and Qualifications:Required: - Bachelor's degree from ABET-accredited program in Electrical, Fire Protection, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- 4+ years experience with I&C/LSS systems
- Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and controls applications
- Understanding of Fire Alarm and Life Safety System regulations
Preferred: - Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Fire Alarm System NICET Certification
- Experience with semiconductor fabrication facilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Knowledge of UL 508A and NFPA 72
- Experience with Siemens PLC and Edwards EST3/EST4 systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in team environments
Job Details: Location: Boise, ID
Pay: $39-$60/hr (W2)
