Title: Mechanical Engineer II
Location: Onsite at Painted Post, NY
Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension
The manager is willing to consider non-local candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.
Minimal travel requirements (10%)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on the following:
1, Knowledge of web-conveyance fundamentals and proficiency in roll-to-roll web-conveyance system design
2. Knowledge of thermal equipment fundamentals and proficiency in custom thermal equipment design
3. Proficiency in structural and thermal FEA modeling
SCOPE OF POSITION
- A mechanical engineer responsible for design & start-up/debug support of process equipment. This includes working with a multi-functional team (process, mechanical, electrical, controls, metrology, facilities, IT, operations, etc.)
- involves the application of mechanical principles encompassed in mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use of machinery of all types.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design process equipment, lead procurement of equipment and oversee and participate in assembly and installation of equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with mechanical equipment engineering, design, installation, start-up and debugging in an early-stage development environment
- Ability to manage and own all phases of equipment design (problem statement, conceptualization, detail design, detail drawing package)
- Experience working with machine shops and managing the procurement phase of custom equipment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and EPDM Vault
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work with diverse teams (skills, disciplines, gender, culture, race, etc.)
- Comfortable working with minimal direction and adapting to evolving requirements
- Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions
- Familiarity with other engineering disciplines (electrical, controls, process, etc.)
Work Schedule: 40hrs/week standard business hours
Interview Process: 2 Team Meetings - 1st with the manager, 2nd panel interview with other members of the team. If the candidate is local, 2nd interview will be on-site.
