Mechanical Engineer II to work on-site with our client in Painted Post, NY. This is a contract opportunity supporting advanced manufacturing and process equipment development with strong potential for extension.

Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer II will support the design, development, and startup of custom process equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and technical teams to deliver high-performance equipment solutions from concept through installation and debug.
Key Responsibilities - Design and develop custom process equipment and mechanical systems
- Lead procurement efforts and coordinate with machine shops and vendors
- Oversee equipment assembly, installation, and startup/debug activities
- Own full design lifecycle: concept, detailed design, and drawing packages
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, process, etc.)
- Apply mechanical engineering principles including thermodynamics, materials science, and machine design
- Support troubleshooting and optimization of equipment performance
Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology
- Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with mechanical equipment design, installation, startup, and debug
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and EPDM Vault
- Experience working with machine shops and custom equipment procurement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt in evolving environments
Preferred / Specialized Experience: - Knowledge of roll-to-roll (web conveyance) system design
- Experience with thermal equipment design
- Proficiency in structural and thermal FEA modeling
- Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering environments
Work Environment - 100% onsite in Painted Post, NY (Sullivan Park)

Additional Notes - Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for at least 18 months from start date
