Engineer, Mechanical Design

Job Summary:

A Mechanical Design Engineer creates, develops, and tests mechanical devices, systems, and components using CAD software. They translate concepts into detailed, manufacturable blueprints, specializing in areas like machinery, robotics, or HVAC. Typical roles require a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, proficiency in 3D modeling, and knowledge of materials and GD&T.

Job Responsibilities:

  • CAD Design & Modeling: Using software to create 2D/3D models and simulations.

  • Material Selection: Choosing appropriate materials based on strength, durability, and cost.

  • Analysis & Simulation: Conducting FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to test.

  • Drafting Standards: Adhering to technical documentation standards and GD&T.

  • Prototyping & Testing: Developing physical prototypes and running tests for performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace.

  • 9 years minimum in Mechanical Design experience for aerospace industry.

  • Must possess experience in Autocad and/or Solidworks design tools.

  • Experience with commercial and military systems design and development.

  • Experience with Research and Development of mechanical systems/subsystems.
