Job description:
  • The Manufacturing Engineer will support a machining factory environment, working directly on the production floor to troubleshoot CNC machining processes, enhance manufacturing efficiency, and ensure products meet technical and quality requirements. This role focuses on continuous improvement, machining optimization, documentation, and production readiness within a fast?paced manufacturing setting.

What You Will Do:
  • Work closely with machinists to improve machining efficiency and train operators to meet hardware and quality requirements (primary responsibility).
  • Troubleshoot and support CNC machining operations, including lathes and mills, to ensure consistent production throughput.
  • Apply expertise in cutting tool technology, fixture design, and CNC programming to establish best manufacturing practices.
  • Develop production?level CNC programs and prove out first?article parts on 3?, 4?, and 5?axis mills and live?tooling lathes.
  • Provide feedback to drafting and design engineering teams to improve manufacturability in future designs.
  • Support training and development of production machinists to enhance skillsets and knowledge base.
  • Develop and maintain standard machining documentation to support CNC programs using CAM systems.
  • Utilize technical expertise to meet production goals related to productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles to drive process improvements and cost reduction.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes deliver products that meet quality, cost, reliability, and consistency requirements.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp?up activities.
  • Conduct research for equipment acquisition and prepare ROI justifications.
  • Generate tooling concepts and cycle?time estimates for bid and proposal activities.
  • Serve as a technical troubleshooter for machining, assembly, and manufacturing process issues.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Suppliers, and Customers to resolve technical and production challenges.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers while fostering a collaborative team environment.

This is 12 months Full- time- contract with possible hire opportunity.

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance

Required:
  • High proficiency in CNC manufacturing using Mastercam CAD/CAM software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in 5?axis CNC programming.
  • Experience with live?tooling lathe programming.
  • Ability to design tooling and fixture concepts for CNC machining.
  • Hands?on manufacturing shop floor experience, working closely with machinists and operators.
  • Experience creating CNC programs and standard work instructions.
  • Strong background in Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical drawing interpretation and GD&T.
  • Experience with inspection and part verification, including handheld measurement tools.
  • Ability to assess manufacturability and communicate design alternatives.
  • Proven success in fast?paced manufacturing environments

Desired Skill Sets:
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE
  • Experience with MRP/ERP/SAP Systems
  • Experience with design: CATIA V, SolidWorks, CREO etc.
  • Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Siemens NX experience
  • High Precision ID/OD Grinding
  • Demonstrated experience working with automated manufacturing cells
  • Knowledge of military and industry standards and specifications

Education level required:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and typically a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or BSME, BSIE, or equivalent technical degree with 8 years' experience or 10-15 years of related experience can be considered in lieu of degree completion.

Pay Range: $78.00 - $83.00 per hour.
