Manufacturing Engineer - Seattle, WA area
Our client in the Seattle, WA area is an Electric motor manufacturer for electric aircraft and is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for providing support for their Company.

Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.
Position purpose/core responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing the processes, technologies & tools for the in-house manufacturing and assembly of electric propulsion systems for aerospace applications and for supporting the supply chain and design organizations for the manufacturing processes and tools at our suppliers. The primary focus of this role is on New Product Introduction (NPI) from initial design stages into entry-into-service. This Includes coordination with Design & Quality Engineering, using Solidworks to interpret models & drawings, and ultimately to design the required manufacturing and assembly tools. In addition, they are responsible to drive new technology and process improvement ideas to advance the company. This is a hands-on role that works closely with the assembly technicians throughout the NPI and production process and actively supports shop day-to-day execution.

Main Duties:
  • Develop assembly processes and detailed work instructions based on design, FTY and productivity goals.
  • Design, validate, procure and install tooling and equipment.
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems.
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and performance.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production.
  • Find ways to reduce lead-time and costs and maximize quality.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test teams.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety, regulatory and environmental regulations.
  • Upgrade systems and processes with new technology.

Qualifications:
  • S. Degree in Engineering; Post-graduate degree is a plus.
  • 5 years' experience as a manufacturing engineer (or similar role) in electric motors, aerospace manufacturing, or related industry.
  • Solidworks/CAD modeling software experience.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes, fabrication, and tool design related to electric motors.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques, six-sigma and 5S.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulatory environment.
  • Commitment to health & safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Problem-solving ability.
