Harris Group is looking for an Associate Control Systems Engineer to work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers on a variety of industrial applications. This opportunity will be based in Harris Group's Portland office.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and a desire to develop in the Automation and Instrumentation discipline. Bring your curiosity and problem-solving skills to this exciting role!

The Responsibilities
- Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on varied and diverse projects.
- Supporting control system testing, equipment commissioning, and field testing.
- Field information gathering and surveying.
- PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrade.
- Developing drawings and specifications for construction.
- Equipment selection, cost estimating, and equipment layout.
- Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required.
The Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in PLC programming and HMI or SCADA configuration.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the year required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to use a computer and software programs, such as AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.

Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
