Manufacturing Automation / Commissioning Engineer (Robotics)
Location: York, PA (Onsite)
Type: Direct Hire | Schedule: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Travel: Up to 25%
Join a team building and launching robotic automation systems-and be the person who brings them to life after power-up. You'll configure equipment, fine-tune controls, and troubleshoot performance until the system is ready for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). What you'll do - Commission robotic automation systems to meet performance requirements and project timelines
- Configure equipment and support systems (robotics, motion, tooling, conveyors/vision as needed)
- Modify and debug control programs; optimize system performance through commissioning
- Partner with Assembly, Engineering, and Service to solve mechanical/electrical/controls issues
- Support installation/startup activities at customer sites, including FAT/SAT support
- Provide technical feedback to improve designs, documentation, and future builds
Required - Associate degree in Mechatronics/Robotics or Bachelor's in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering (or related)
- 3-10 years relevant experience in automation/robotics/commissioning environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics and mechanical/assembly drawings
- Understanding of pneumatics
- Experience with structured text programming
- Professional customer communication skills-especially during performance issues
Preferred
- Hands-on experience programming/configuring robotics and/or vision systems
- Automated material handling / conveyance systems exposure
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD)
Work environment / physical requirements - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Manufacturing environment exposure (hot/cold/wet) for extended periods
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, frequent standing/walking
