Summary:
The Controls Engineer will perform conceptual design, detailed engineering, equipment fabrication, testing, and start-up, review the project contract, proposal, specifications, preliminary drawings, and clarifications to determine the intended scope, technical feasibility, and compliance of technical objectives for the project.
Responsibilities of the
Controls Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Control panel design, including developing electrical schematics and create a BOM
- Build/wire control panels
- PLC program development and modifications
- HMI program development and modifications
- SCADA program development and modifications
- PLC/HMI hardware field upgrades
- VFD installation, programming & troubleshooting
- Provide startup testing and training for control systems we developed and/or installed
- Control systems troubleshooting and modifications
- Provide field wiring modifications for control systems
Qualifications of the
Controls Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- 2-5 years of experience in controls engineering including panel and instrumentation design
- Proficiency with Excel, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical
- Proficiency with Factory Talk, Studio 5000, SCADA Software
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Previous experience with panel design, drawings, and PLC programming
- Knowledge and understanding of I/O, PLC and relay based controls and logic
- Experience in troubleshooting existing control panels
- Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines
