Summary: The Transmission Engineer will work on the interconnection team supporting high-voltage project design, engineering, and execution of projects from conception to completion. The Transmission Engineer will lead the transmission line and high-voltage substation design strategy for new projects at the conception of project development. This engineer will work with the broader development team supporting line routing, substation plans, and providing general engineering support through the lifecycle of new and existing battery and solar projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and/or perform substation physical electrical design, including general arrangement, plans & specifications, grounding, raceway, etc. for transmission voltage systems Lead and/or perform protection & controls design, including relay one-lines, metering, SCADA, communications, security, etc Lead and/or perform studies & calculations, including grounding, bus spans, shielding, etc Develop and/or review turnkey EPC scope of work and specifications Ensure design compliance with Large Generator Interconnection Agreements and Power Purchase Agreements Comprehensive understanding of the utility grid (power generation & transmission) system and the principles involved in high voltage substation engineering Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI and their application to projects Provide full life cycle project support, including initial project feasibility, preliminary...
