Position Summary: In conjunction with all clinical departments and physicians, the Rehabilitation Engineer I is involved with the design, development, modification and application of rehabilitative devices, assistive technology and therapeutic equipment to assist patients in achieving greater independence. This position involves working to address problems related to wheelchairs and mobility, corrective postural positioning, independent living, workplace modification, adaptive driving and assistive technology for both personal and therapeutic environments/use. This position's main focus is to help increase the patient's function, comfort, safety and overall independence utilizing engineering principles of design and manufacture.
