Position: Chief Mechanical Engineer Schedule: Flexable This position Can be located at the Bayou La Batre, AL facility or the Elmwood, LA engineering offices. Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the engineering team in the design, development, and modification of vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Oversee multiple projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring technical and operational requirements are met. Establish engineering best practices, methodologies, and processes to enhance efficiency and innovation. Work closely with naval architects, structural engineers, and other specialists to resolve complex engineering challenges. Ensure compliance with classification societies (e.g., ABS, Lloyd's Register), USCG, IMO, and other maritime regulations.
