Weston & Sampson is currently expanding our practice in the southeast and looking to add experienced design engineering staff in our Apex, NC office. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of professional experience in Utility Design. What you'll do: Assist Project Manager with engineering work. Development of utility design plan sets for a variety of transportation and municipal projects in accordance with the required formats set forth by NCDOT or the municipality. Prepare Utility Construction Special Provisions / Specifications in accordance with NCDOT / municipal utility owner requirements. Prepare cost/quantity estimates for projects at various stages of design. Prepare and submit Permit Packages to various state agencies or self-permitting municipalities. We are looking for University Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, Construction Management majors who have applied and have been approved through their university cooperative education office to participate in alternating semesters (school and full-time employment). Our mutual goal will be to provide you training to potentially look to project engineering or superintendent-in-training opportunities. Crowder performs technically challenging and diverse scopes of work. We dig deep into means and methods with high levels of construction and engineering coordination. Primary function of a Co-Op/Intern: To assist (and learn from) project management and/or estimating teams with daily tasks to build/estimate projects. Co-Op assignments normally involve three (3) work rotations alternating with school semester attendance. Each rotation will be at a different location with one of our...
