JOB PURPOSE The Refrigeration Engineer reports to the Refrigeration Engineering Manager and is responsible for the design and preparation of plans and specifications for the installation of supermarket refrigeration equipment and systems for new store, store remodel and capital maintenance projects. Assessments of existing equipment and installations, with recommendation to maintain, modify or replace, is included as part of the Engineer's responsibility for remodel and capital maintenance projects. POSITION SUMMARY The EMS Design Engineer (Building Automation & Controls) is responsible for the design, coordination, commissioning, and support of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) for new construction, remodel, and retrofit projects within commercial retail environments. This role supports refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, leak detection, and other building systems by developing control system designs, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring successful implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
