P&ID Interpretation: The intern will learn how to read P&IDs. He/she will become familiar with symbols, terminology, P&ID numbering, pipeline and instrument designation system. Ethanol Production Process: The intern will learn the phases of the ethanol production process such as cook, fermentation and distillation by completing a mass and energy balance. He/she will be acquainted with the chemicals being used at the ethanol process. He/she will learn the purpose and function of major equipment. Basic knowledge of the control scheme will be acquired.
