Job Summary: The UAV industry is a fast-paced and constantly evolving market in which Lumenier is a key player. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for drone hardware and structures. This position requires a broad set of skills within the mechanical engineering discipline. Technical Capabilities/Skills: To perform at a high level, the Mechanical Engineer ideal candidate would have the following capabilities and skills: • Strong foundation in mechanical design, structures, and materials • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) • Experience designing and releasing production-ready parts and assemblies • Ability to create detailed engineering drawings with GD&T and tolerance analysis • Experience with lightweight structural design and material selection (aluminum, carbon fiber, plastics) • Familiarity with FEA or first-principles analysis for structural and thermal problems • Hands-on prototyping experience (3D printing, CNC machining,...
