POSITION SUMMARY The Capital Project Engineer serves as a project manager, overseeing the coordination and design of various public improvements and city capital construction projects from conceptual planning, through detailed design, into construction and final completion. These may include: pavement maintenance activities, street reconstruction, utility replacement or rehabilitation, sidewalks, trails & pedestrian ramps, alleys, bridges, drainage, flood & erosion control, parks, and miscellaneous infrastructure repairs. Designs small- and medium-size improvements. Reviews consultant plans on large projects. Makes decisions and recommendation on major projects, and coordinates planning and design activities with staff and operations. Communicates and seeks input from the community.
