What you will do Under minimal supervision, responsible for the continuous improvement of plant processes and equipment including design and PLC program changes, mechanical and electrical documentation, Six Sigma variation reduction, uptime improvements, and maintenance expense reduction. How you will do it Efficiently use problem solving techniques including Pareto analysis, cause and effect analysis, multi-variable analysis, FMEA's and DOE's to reach solutions. Initiate and lead plant teams in the development of process improvements. Provide technical support for plant operations including maintenance support, capital project implementation, and Six Sigma project rollout support. ABOUT THE ROLE Amsted Automotive, Powder Metal Division, is looking for Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible to evaluate alternatives leading to the development, improvement, and implementation of manufacturing processes on new and existing products to achieve an optimum relationship between cost and quality. This position will work with other Engineers to support process engineering, industrial engineering, production standard costs, automation/tooling/equipment procurement, improving operating performance, identifying, and reducing waste, and troubleshooting in assigned areas of responsibility. It will also support the continuous improvement activities for the business, including the development and implementation of lean manufacturing concepts to systematically identify and eliminate waste.
