Overview The Mechanical Engineer II or III - will work with or lead assigned engineering teams to support the design and analysis of aircraft, ground, and/or sea military hardware, missionization kits, and other type modifications to ensure the integrity of the designed systems in the appropriate operational settings. Responsibilities As a team member or as mechanical lead, support the development of new design concepts utilizing information from customer requirements, existing drawings, and on-site aircraft or ground vehicle surveys. Convert design concepts and requirements into detailed designs for assemblies, sub-assemblies, and the supporting piece parts using 3D CAD software. Use mock-ups and / or 3D printed parts to verify fit or other functional requirements prior to committing to a final design. Familiar with interpretation and utilization of GD&T (AMSE 14.5).
