Position Summary The Structural Engineer is primarily responsible for designing load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, bridges, or roadways. This position performs analysis of building materials for use in construction. Additional consideration for Federal design and design/build experience. Key Responsibilities Following is a general list of tasks falling into the areas of responsibility of the Structural Engineer. It attempts to present a comprehensive, but not complete, listing of potential assignments that may be undertaken. Perform structural calculations and design using current codes and standards. Develop layouts, drawings, and specifications for structural systems. Create sketches and coordinate with Designers/Drafters. Research design options and support the lead engineer.
