Job Overview: Gather relevant technical data, design requirements, and other necessary information to help determine the best solution for aircraft related issues and projects. Reverse engineer parts and assemblies to generate manufacturing drawings of legacy aircraft components Perform hand calculations, utilize CAD, FEA tools, and technical data to help develop, assess, or optimize parts, repairs, or modification designs. Work with onsite resources, such as the fabrication shop, 3d printers, waterjet table, etc., to generate prototypes and installation ready parts and assemblies. Aid in generating documents, design drawings, and detailed substantiation reports based on FEA simulations, hand calculations, and research for in-house requirements and USAF/NAVY/FAA deliverables.
