About the Job Northern Gear and Machining is seeking experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer/Programmers to collaborate with a team of people dedicated to the success of our customers. This role is responsible for the optimization of programming, improving existing processes, and implementation of the newest fixturing and tooling concepts. Responsibilities: Program CNC machines; Mills. Some Lathe experience preferred. Understand and select correct tooling and fixturing for Mills and Grinders. Produce parts within required tolerances and specifications. Maintain involvement from set-up through 1st piece approval. Process improvement. Develop set-up sheets and specifications for set-up. Assist with troubleshooting of process related issues. Stay relevant with the latest cutting tool technology and work holding. Interface with Tool Crib. First piece approval responsibility. Position Summary Responsible for the design and analysis associated with automatic door product and accessory development. Also works with product upgrades using established processes. Model and design products using current software to configure products and dimensional options. Some lab or field testing of product changes or product introductions may also occur. Essential Functions Manage projects, processes, performance report data, and analyses in the documentation management system. Use design concepts and fundamental technology for new product development or existing product improvement. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality Managers; suggest quality and process improvements and new product development.
