The Schaefer internship and co-op program provides opportunities for students to apply classroom methodology to hands-on modeling and design. The student's Schaefer advisor, mentor and the assigned project team coordinate to ensure the learning experience is relevant and challenging. Successful internships and co-op rotations may lead to full-time employment, as evidenced by our present staff of dedicated and talented structural engineers and modelers, many of whom were students here themselves. The internship position is full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately 3 months during the Summer semester of 2027. Scope of Work Develop an understanding of load path and simple statics within basic structures. Work to create structural drawings from engineering designs to markups.
