Office Location: St. Cloud, MN Primary responsibilities include providing CADD (Computer Aided Design Drafting) and field support services for the design and construction of municipal infrastructure improvement projects. Engineering Technicians are expected to possess and apply basic civil engineering design principles and construction methods both in the office and in the field. Engineering Technicians typically work in a team environment during the design and development of project plans. Technicians report to a Project Manager or Senior Engineer. Additional duties include CADD work related to graphics or drawings required for reports, proposals, and project interviews. The Engineering Technician I and Engineering Technician II positions work as part of the Engineering Department team performing advanced technical civil engineering work focused on design, plan preparation, construction administration, construction inspection, topographic survey, and construction field staking of public infrastructure improvements. Work is performed independently under the general supervision of a professional engineer or an administrative superior. The position is full-time and allows the opportunity to work outside in the warmer months and inside during the colder months, and to be a part of the project team for public infrastructure projects of all sizes.
