Description The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, commissioning, and supporting automation systems and industrial controls within a manufacturing environment. This role works hands-on with machine electronics, PLC systems, motion control, drives, and sensor networks to support automated manufacturing equipment and improve production performance and reliability. Responsibilities include developing electrical schematics and drawings, selecting automation components, creating bills of materials, configuring electrical systems, and collaborating with technicians during system commissioning. The Automation Engineer will also develop automation software applications, implement communication protocols and control interfaces, troubleshoot existing systems, redesign legacy control systems, and produce technical documentation and user manuals.
