Job Description The Power Distribution Design Engineer applies developing technical expertise to solve simple problems, and leadership skills to provide oversight of work in relations to power distribution, their specific area of developing expertise, with close supervision. Workers are expected to develop skill in their field of study and can work with some degree of independence. This position is to write work orders and will require handling numerous work order simultaneously. Candidates will spend approximately one day a week in the field taking gathering data. The remainder of time will be spent entering data into design systems and managing work assigned to them. SUMMARY This position is responsible for designing the electrical power distribution system for the auxiliary equipment of our Gas Turbine projects. Our voltage levels are primarily in the low-voltage side (600V and below) with implementation of equipment such as MCCs, Panelboards, LV Transformers, DC Systems and Batteries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop single-line diagrams, panelboard schedules, electrical loads lists, motors lists, wiring diagrams, control schematics, cable schedules, terminations schedules. • Develop power system plans, lighting plans, electrical room layouts, elevation drawings, conduit/cable tray arrangements, hazardous area classifications. • Perform calculations, sizing of equipment (i.e.: breakers, overload devices, relays), sizing of cables/conduits/equipment spacing, illumination level calculations, maintaining BOM's, and other design duties required by complexity of project. • Develop and / or review electrical, control and...
