Job Summary: The Summer Manufacturing Engineer Co-op will assist the Manufacturing Engineering Department with production activities. Primary work involves using SolidWorks CAD software to design tools and fixtures for manufacturing. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Student enrolled in a four-year degree program, majoring in Engineering who has completed their freshman year of college. Experience: Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD software. Must be willing to work 3 or more rotating semesters. Other functions include: Tooling and production method development Material storage analysis and improvement Collection and analysis of labor / machinery productivity and efficiency data Machine tool set up reduction Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques. Experience in or knowledge of metal cutting Experience in or knowledge of metal cutting processes / machinery.

Primary work involves using AutoCAD software to manage, edit and release 2D drawings for customer and production needs. Various other functions will include working with electrical engineering to support production wiring needs, review customer specifications, review electrical cabinet designs and support new part number generation. The co-op will be involved in engineering design, interpretation of customer specification and requirements, electrical engineering vendor support, customer relations, testing needs and active construction.
