Description Position at Port Authority Trans-Hudson About the Internship The Power, Signals and Communications (PS&C) Division is one of five operating divisions at PATH in charge of the 20+ electrical substations and electrical distribution infrastructure along the PATH system in both New Jersey and New York to provide power to move the trains as well as provide power for all the PATH stations, turnstiles, ticket vending machines, tenants, and much more. PS&C also maintains and operates a fully compliant Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Positive Train Control (PTC) signal system which allows for the safe and efficient movement of trains with passengers along the system. Lastly, PS&C is responsible for the carrier grade network that supports data for all PATH systems including security access and control, closed-circuit cameras, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and next train countdown clocks.
