Job Description The Civil Engineer is responsible for a variety of Civil Engineering projects focused on transportation, water, wastewater, and civil site in both rural and urban Alaska. Responsibilities Participate in marketing, writing proposals, winning work, and developing and maintaining client relationships. Initiate, plan, execute, and close small to large size civil infrastructure projects. Perform design tasks and/or lead a design team on various civil infrastructure projects, including roads, water, wastewater, stormwater, and site civil. Coordinate the work of a design team and outside consultants to develop Plans, Specifications and Estimate packages for multiple projects and a variety of clients. Summary: The position requires a dynamic individual with an engineering background, the ability to work flexible hours (but primarily Monday through Friday), and a willingness to travel periodically. The position will be extremely active and will include a variety of field assignments related to contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation, and office work, such as preparation of planning and reporting documents. Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations is required for higher-level position grades.
