As a part of a multi-disciplinary organization, traffic engineers work with several departments to prepare drawings for state department and private clients' approvals. Individuals in this role need to have a strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, practices, and standards with experience using traffic analysis software. Operating in both the public and private sectors, the ideal candidate would be aware of all local, state, and federal regulations as they relate to those areas.
