The design lead oversees the design team in successfully planning, executing, and delivering primarily large-scale projects. Responsibilities include: • Act as the primary design engineer of record and project lead for projects congruent with experience. • Provide regularly scheduled project reviews to review design progress, schedule, outstanding issues, etc. to provide guidance and support to design staff. • Sign and seal plan sets as appropriate for level of involvement in the project. • Create or direct schematic design layouts and establish initial design direction. • Plan out project tasks, priorities, timelines, and delegate tasks to project engineers and designers. • Perform QA/QC of delegated tasks. • Provide technical support and develop expertise of project engineers as necessary. • Communicate and coordinate with and between clients and design teams. • Provide design team assistance with complex RFIs and CA issues. • Provide guidance and/or generate Program of...
